Tiny Car Co are delighted to offer for sale this lovely RHD Fiat 500F Bambina, a very rare New Zealand build example of the iconic little Italian Cinquecento! Being a RHD car and the F model, this 500 has the desirable cream round speedo (in MPH) and cream steering wheel that is now iconic to the Fiat 500.
This little fiat has been fitted with all the upgrades you would want on a classic 500:
The engine has been upgraded to the larger 650cc unit allowing the car to keep up with modern traffic. This engine we were advised is a fairly recent rebuild and benefits from a 123 electronic ignition and a wasted spark coil for the ultimate reliable ignition system, an alternator instead of a dynamo for improved charging and the larger Weber 28 carburettor correctly installed with a fuel return back to the tank, all in all making it a lovely reliable upgrade.
The gearbox has been upgraded to the synchronised unit from the Fiat 126 making for much easier gear-changes.
Up front, the car has disc brakes to cope with the extra power and the wheels are wearing wider tyres for better road holding.
Inside the car has had inertia reel seatbelts fitted up front and a cigarette lighter concealed in the glovebox.
The car is very solid and is ready to be used and enjoyed, the bodywork is very smart and presentable but is not concours. The car is an older restoration so it does have some small marks as you would expect, a few little cracks in the paintwork and a few small zits around the rear arches. These aside, the car has polished up superbly with very bright paintwork and bright chrome with very light pitting in places. The lights all round have been recently replaced and we have fitted the orange indicators for UK road compliance.
Inside the car looks superb, Being a 500F, the car has the iconic round speedo and cream steering wheel and being a New Zealand car, the dash also features the lovely bambina badge, We have never seen another in the UK!
The red carpet is a recent replacement and suits the car perfectly and the black vinyl seats are in really nice condition.
In the front ‘boot’ the car retains the original tool box complete with all the tools and the jack and spare wheel are present.
The car comes with a nice history file that begins with the cars import paperwork to the UK from New Zealand in 2006. from here all the MOTs are present as well as invoices totalling £1000s in upkeep of the car over the last 18 years. The car has a current MOT until September 2024.
This is a lovely smart RHD Fiat 500 with all the right upgrades to make it a very useable reliable car. We have just given the car a service and it is ready to be used and enjoyed! The car has been on display in London at local Christmas markets and as we are enjoying using this little car, the mileage will increase lightly until it finds its new home.
