Tiny Car Company are pleased to offer for sale this stunning RHD Fiat 500L.

The car has some lovely history, having been purchased by the previous owners Father in the 1980s. The car was passed from Father to Son, and ended up needing restoration.
The car was then sold in 2017 to a car restorer who completed a full photographic restoration and kept the car for 5 years. He then purchased another Fiat 500 to restore and sold the car back to the previous owner meaning its been part of that family for over 40 years!

The restoration:

This is an exceptional example of a RHD Fiat 500. Anyone looking for a UK RHD Cinquecento will know how hard it is to find one that is properly solid.

The restoration folder includes 100s of photographs of every step of the restoration and invoices for all the parts that were used including all the nuts and bolts! This was a no expense spared rebuild completed to a high standard with original parts used wherever possible. Including the original doors which were reskinned instead of pattern parts being used.

The bodywork was all attended to with new floors, wings, sills etc and the car was then repainted in its original colour.

Incredibly, This 500 retains its original vinyl seats from new which are in very good condition. The rest of the interior was restored with new carpets, door cards and trim making the interior of the car a superb place to be.

The chrome work has all been replaced in the restoration and as such presents extremely well throughout.

The mechanicals were all been attended to in the restoration, with new brakes, bushes, steering arms etc all being fitted and documented. We were informed by the previous owner that he believed the 499cc engine and gearbox to be original to the car, certainly not having been replaced since his father purchased the car over 40 years ago.

Having arrived at Tiny Car Co, we have subject the car to a thorough inspection and a service, replacing the oil and filters cleaning out the centrifugal filter, rebuilding the starter motor and replacing some ignition items to ensure the car is in top mechanical health. The tyres were replaced back in 2019 and still look as good as new, our electrician has attended to any issues in the wiring and now everything on the car works exactly as it should. We have polished and detailed the car to get it looking its best and in doing so identified only a few small marks in the paintwork and 2 small chips underneath the bonnet which we are waiting on some matched paint to touch in. These are to be expected of a 500 that was painted 7 years ago but are very minor blemishes that certainly do not detract from the quality of the car.
The paint has polished to a superb shine and the chrome remains in excellent unmarked condition.

The only non original features on the car are a modern radio and speakers (although these have been fitted on brackets into preexisting holes so can be removed easily if desired.

The L in the 500L stood for Lusso or Luxury and was the best appointed 500 that Fiat produced. The ‘Luxury’ features included carpets instead of rubber mats, a more comprehensive dash with a fuel gauge, chrome trim in the front and rear screens, tilting backrests on the seats, and a few other chrome extras including the bumper over rides which this car doesn’t currently wear but these could be fitted if desired by the new owner.

we have loads more photographs of the car and pictures from the restoration that can be send over by whatsapp!
